- From April 2015, students applying for a visa from outside the UK will be issued a vignette sticker in their passport that allows temporary entry clearance to the UK. This is for any student from certain countries who intend to study a course for 6 months or longer. The vignette is valid for 30 days prior to the start date of the course of study.
- The applicant will be issued with a 30-day short term biometric entry clearance visa to allow them to come to the UK to collect their BRP.
- Due to COVID, this 30-day period is now extended to 90 days.
- Student must collect the BRP within ten days of arrival in the UK.
- The visa will start from the date the applicant indicated in their application form that they would travel to the UK. They will also receive a decision letter, which will tell the applicant which Post Office they must collect their BRP from. It will also tell them what to do if they are unable to collect their BRP.
Student Dependent VISA
The Dependents are allowed with students if he is applying for postgraduate level
for 12 months or longer course. In this case dependents are allowed to work full
time. Dependents of a student can go along with the student or can even join
them later.
The key documents in getting a successful Dependent Visa are –
- Marriage Certificate – Form E
- Accommodation Confirmation / Tenancy Agreement
- Valid Visa Copy of Main Applicant (If applying later).
The Fund Requirement for the visa is-
- Inside London –7605 GBP (845 GBP for 9 months) w.e.f 12th November 2015
- Outside London – 6120 GBP (680 GBP for 9 months) w.e.f 12th November 2015
The Funds must be 28 days old.
TIER 2 Work VISA Scheme
Work Visa comes under Tier 2 Point Based System. A student after completing his Bachelors / Masters from UK can extend his visa for 3 years under this category. The student must score 70 Points for successful visa.
